#OnThisDay In 1977, Palace Burlesk closes. It opened in the late 1920s and operated in Shelton Square, commonly nicknamed “Buffalo’s Time Square” at the time. A variety of shows could be seen at the popular venue from risque burlesque shows to Vaudeville follies and band performances. The Palace moved to 710 Main Street but the popularity could not follow it and the Palace Burlesk had to close. The building was eventually renovated by Shea’s, becoming the Shea’s 710 Theatre, which operated to this day.
Did you ever get to see a show at the Palace Burlesk? Do you remember passing by it in Shelton Square?
